Site update — 31 October 2026. Tattoo Studio Kit now has dedicated News, Blog, Knowledgebase and Glossary sections. They give the library different starting points depending on whether you want an announcement, a practical perspective, a reference guide or a definition.

Read an announcement with its date and source News
Explore an editorial exercise or working habit Blog
Search the reference guides for a topic Knowledgebase
Look up an unfamiliar studio term Glossary

The Guides hub remains available for browsing by topic. Existing article addresses are preserved, so links to the opening, licensing, equipment and business guides still lead to those articles.

News dates mean something specific

The News section distinguishes site announcements from reports about outside developments. An older policy announcement is labelled as an archive item and carries the original event date as well as our publication date. Adding a report to this site does not make the underlying announcement new.

The first policy archive looks at Defra's December 2025 tattoo-ink restriction decision. It links to the official publication and separates the announcement from questions about implementation and current requirements.

Blog posts offer a point of view

The first two posts work through small, practical exercises: keeping an opening decision log and choosing a useful revision after portfolio feedback.

They are editorial suggestions. The reference guides remain the place for a structured introduction to the wider topic and links to the sources behind it.

Reference material stays connected

The Knowledgebase searches the existing guide library rather than creating a second copy of each article. The Glossary provides a term index leading into the full studio glossary.

If you are planning an opening, start with the studio checklist and use the library to investigate the questions it raises. If you are still seeking training, start with the apprenticeship guide and portfolio material.
